Trevin Howard joins the coaching staff of Panthers Wrocław as the wide receivers coach. The American played as a WR himself and has gained extensive coaching experience across Europe. He has worked with teams in Hungary, Germany, Mexico, Iceland, and Austria, as well as serving as the WR coach for the Hungarian national team.
One of the key reasons for joining Panthers was the opportunity to work with experienced coaches and players. – "Like many other coaches and players throughout Europe, the goal is to reach the highest level of competition. When Coach Kuligowski presented the opportunity to me and explained the pedigree of coaches and players I would get to work with, such as OC Coach Studrawa, it was simply a no-brainer. I had to jump at the opportunity!"
His goal for the upcoming season is to prepare his players as best as possible and maximize their potential. – "The Panthers are bringing some of the best WRs in all of Europe, and the biggest challenge is just to ensure that is displayed!"
Howard emphasizes a detailed approach to training and ensuring that players understand their roles on the field. – "One thing I like to focus on when coaching in general is explaining why we are doing something and how it translates to actual game situations. I think they are much more receptive and bought into your coaching if you are able to do this." He also highlights the rapid development of American football in Europe, where tactical awareness plays a crucial role. He plans to implement methods that will help WRs improve their game reading and decision-making skills.
Howard has clear goals for the new season. – "I want to focus on my guys knowing their alignment, assignment, and emphasis on execution! I believe we have a special group at WR, and this group can play a big role in taking a step closer to the trophy."
Howard believes that the WR unit will play a crucial role in the upcoming competition. – "The WR core will be responsible for a lot of points this season. Let’s have a special year!" Panthers Nation can be assured that they are getting one of the hardest workers in the room. He also values the atmosphere within the team and looks forward to working together. – "Luckily for me, I have experience coaching in this part of Europe, so it will be less of a culture shock and learning curve."
