The first home game in 2022 is behind us - Panthers Lacrosse hosted the ATV Leipzig 1845 players as part of the DLaxV Women's Eastern Bundesliga.
While waiting for the start of the European League of Football games, Panthers fans cannot complain about the lack of sports emotions in Wrocław. Apart from the Lacrosse Tournament, the Panthers Softball home tournament is waiting for us before the footballers' debut.
In Saturday's match against ATV, the Panthers players took full control of the game after the first whistle, not giving it up until the end of the match. Already at the beginning of the first quarter, Małgorzata Kacperczyk, playing in the Panthers with the number 15 in the Panthers attack, opened the result. Another Panthers players - #6 Anna Walas and #17 Małgorzata Maciuszek, almost immediately followed the blow of the popular “Gogo”, increasing the lead to 3:0.
The defense players showed an equally great dominance, giving the guests virtually no chance to play the ball and attack the goal. The lost shots were strongly defended by Dominik Gredka, who was in the Panthers goal. After the second quarter, the Panthers players were leading 9-0 after goals from Agata Tutak, Katarzyna Newlaczyl and Kinga Niessner, entering the second half with a certain lead.
In the second half, the Panthers players focused on killing time, passing play in attack and strong defense, with goals scored by Newlaczyl, Kacperczyk, Tutak and Maciuszek, finishing the match with the score 14:2.
“I expected from the girls the highest level in terms of efficiency, technique (...) who were fully effective. You can see it in the end result. I am very happy that the girls did a good job of the off season, prepared well for the game and were fully motivated to get into the match well from the very beginning and do what they can do” summarizes Bartosz Kajor, Panthers Lacrosse head coach.
The Panthers Lacrosse's first home performance is definitely a sports success! Despite the canceled match against Dresden, the Panthers players showed true sports character and full commitment.
The next performance of Panthers Lacrosse at the Olympic Stadium is scheduled for autumn as part of the Polish Women's Lacrosse League. As part of the Women's Eastern Bundesliga, the girls will play 1 more away tournament in the fall round.
