Two Games Left for Panthers Wrocław in the ELF Regular Season
Panthers Wrocław have just two games remaining in the regular season of the European League of Football. But before these decisive matchups unfold, it's worth highlighting three standout leaders who have dominated the European stage in the 2025 season.
An Unstoppable Duo
For several years now, Wrocław players have been considered among the best in Europe, so their outstanding individual performances in the 2025 season come as no surprise. The team, led by head coach Craig Kuligowski, has showcased an exceptionally effective and exciting running game this year. American quarterback DJ Irons leads the league in rushing yards, having amassed nearly 900 yards so far. Meanwhile, Polish running back Dawid Brzozowski ranks first in the league in rushing touchdowns, with 11 to his name. The Wrocław duo has become a nightmare for opposing defenses, who have yet to find a solution to stop their ground attack.
Europe’s Tackling Machine
American linebacker AJ Wentland is likely haunting the dreams of his opponents. The leader of the Wrocław defense boasts an impressive 125 tackles — the most in the ELF — averaging a remarkable 12.5 tackles per game. It’s worth noting that AJ also led the league in total tackles in both 2023 (122 tackles in 10 games) and 2024 (164 tackles in 12 games), and he’s on track to top the leaderboard once again this season.
"Analyzing the opponent’s play is crucial. It helps you anticipate what they’ll do before the action even starts. Experience and training are just as important for reading the field and reacting quickly. This combination of deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills allows you to predict and neutralize threats effectively. Over time, you get used to simply acting and stopping attacks. It's part of the job, and as a veteran who's been doing this for a while, you grow accustomed to it and just enjoy the competition. The key to success in this role is embracing the challenge and finding joy in the competition itself. As long as a player approaches it with that mindset, they can handle the pressure and perform at the highest level," says AJ Wentland, linebacker for Panthers Wrocław.
