Young Panthers Wrocław Squad to Play Final Regular Season Game of 2025 This Sunday
The young Panthers Wrocław team, competing in the Polish Football League, will play their final regular season game of 2025 this coming Sunday. Their opponents will be Dukes Ząbki. The game will kick off at 3:00 PM at Dozbud Arena in Ząbki.
Win and Secure a Playoff Spot
After an impressive victory over the Jaguars Kąty Wrocławskie, Jakub Samel’s squad finds itself in a favorable position heading into the final week of the Polish Football League regular season. With a 4–3 record, the Wrocław team is still in contention for a playoff spot – and even for second place in the Southern Group. That would secure them a home game in the first round of the playoffs. Everything is still possible, but first and foremost, the Panthers must win their game against Dukes Ząbki and then wait for the results of the other matches.
“Winning the derby against Jaguars Kąty Wrocławskie means a lot to us. These games always come with extra emotional weight – we play not only for points but also for local pride and prestige. We're happy we showed character and executed our game plan. This win helps us grow as a team and sends a strong signal that we’re on the right track. Our goal for the rest of the season remains unchanged: to go as far as possible, step by step, game by game, with full commitment. We’re focusing on development, eliminating mistakes, and building even better chemistry on the field. The upcoming game is another chance to prove ourselves and keep the momentum going. We respect every opponent, but we mainly focus on ourselves. If we play our game, we can beat anyone,” says Marcin Cugier, center for Panthers Wrocław.
The Dukes, from the Warsaw suburb of Ząbki, are having a tough season. Last year they competed in Poland’s second-tier league, and the jump to the PFL’s top division has proven especially challenging. They’ve managed just one win in seven games so far. Despite these struggles, it's certain that the Dukes will give it their all in this final game, fighting to end their season with dignity.
For Wrocław, this match is crucial. They must stay fully focused, as a win is essential to achieving their goal of reaching the playoffs.
“We’re heading into our final game of the regular season, and it’s incredibly important in the context of the playoff race. Players and staff must stay fully focused, because the outcome of this game will have a big impact. Away games are always challenging – not just logistically but also mentally, since we play in a different environment, on a different field, etc. Since Monday, we’ve been analyzing Dukes’ play and looking to correct the mistakes we made in our last game against the Jaguars,” says Jakub Samel, head coach of Panthers Wrocław.
Top Four Teams in Each Group Advance to the Playoffs
In the Northern Group, the four teams that will battle for the Polish championship have already been determined: Warsaw Eagles, Warsaw Mets, Lowlanders Białystok, and Wilki Łódzkie. In the Southern Group, Silesia Rebels Katowice and Jaguars Kąty Wrocławskie have already secured playoff spots. The remaining two places are still up for grabs, with Kraków Kings, Panthers Wrocław, and Armia Poznań in the race.
