The Spanish tight end is joining the Panthers Wrocław. Adrià Botella Moreno is the fifth foreign player contracted by Wrocław for the 2024 season and another player from the Paris Musketeers who will move to Poland.
Botella Moreno is a player with significant football experience. In the last season, alongside Keanu Ebanks, he represented the colors of the Paris Musketeers. A year earlier, he clinched the European championship with the Vienna Vikings, and even earlier, in the 2021 season, he played for the Hamburg Sea Devils. He also has experience playing for the University of Sioux Falls in the NCAA Division II.
Moreno was ranked 46th in the European League of Football players' ranking after the 2023 season. The 30-year-old tight end caught 58 passes for 619 yards and scored 8 touchdowns this year, being the second most effective player for the Paris Musketeers and making his third appearance in the All-Star ELF in his career.
– It is well known that the Panthers have been a top-notch organization in Europe for years. I believe in Coach Christensen’s vision for 2024 and I know that we can take the franchise to the next level. I wanted to be part of this amazing project and to contribute in the writing of a new page in the Panthers’ history. I was really impressed by the city. It’s a beautiful town that offers plenty of possibilities and a great quality of life. The facilities are top level. The fact that everything is located within the Olympic Stadium allows you to maximize your day—being able to lift/train, attend meetings and get treatment all in a centralized location. And the stadium itself is remarkable. I can’t wait for the beginning of the season to witness the stands filled with our fans. Coach Christensen and the Panthers are trying to build something extraordinary for next season. The goal is clear for 2024: We want to bring the championship to Wrocław – says Adrià Botella Moreno.
This marks the fifth confirmed foreign reinforcement for the Panthers Wrocław in the 2024 season. So far, the club has announced the signing of two Americans – A.J. Wentland (LB) and Devan Burrell (DB), a Brazilian - Otávio Amorim (OL), and a Briton - the aforementioned Keanu Ebanks (OL). According to the European League of Football rules, each team can acquire a maximum of four players from the United States and six from other countries worldwide. The 2024 ELF season will kick off at the end of May next year.
