Panthers Wrocław are losing to Vienna Vikings

Panthers had to recognize the superiority of Vienna Vikings. Unfortunately, the Vikings turned out to be the better team on the field and the Panthers have no room for mistakes to get back to the play-offs. After a difficult game in Vienna, the Panthers will now travel to Berlin.

A good start and a hard ending

For the game of the 5th round of the European League of Football Panthers Wrocław went to Vienna. The leaders of the Central Conference set very difficult conditions for the Team from Wrocław, but the beginning of the meeting announced that it could be another fierce battle. When the scoreboard was 0-0 after the first quarter, the matter of victory was still open. In the second quarter the Panthers lost two touchdowns, the second literally a few seconds before the break, but the score 0:14 did not cancel out the chances of winning. However, the picture of the game changed after the break. The Panthers looked like they had lost the idea of effective offense and couldn't figure out a way to get the ball into the Vikings end zone. The players from Vienna used each slip till the end of the game, and ended it with the result of 6:30.

- We literally jammed in this game. The start was good, but then we didn't find a way to score. We've come very close a few times, but it's not enough to win a game against a great team like Vienna Vikings. If we want to win with the best, we have to improve our offensive and the effectiveness of our games a lot. Defense once again played a very good game, but in order to win, we have to score points - says Jakub Samel, Head Coach of Panthers Wrocław.

Trip to Berlin

After difficult games with the best teams in the leauge, Panthers are now facing an away match against Berlin Thunder. The victory in Germany will allow the team from Wrocław to return to the second place in the table of the northern conference.

- I think I can say that we have already reached the limit of failures. We are still in the game, but each subsequent loss may put us off the playoffs. As long as our fate is in our hands, we will do what we can. Both as staff and players. We know that with a game like on Sunday, we will not find a place among the best in the European League of Football, and the Panthers we saw in Vienna are not the team we are. Time for a serious wake -up call - announces Michał Latoś, President of the Management Board of Panthers Wrocław.

Polish fans will be able to watch the match between Panthers Wrocław and Berlin Thunder on Sunday, July 10th from 15:00 (3PM CET) on Polsat Sport Extra .
