Panthers triumph in a Prague thriller!

Panthers Wrocław claimed a thrilling 41–37 away victory over the Prague Lions after an incredibly intense game. The team secured their third consecutive win, and now all eyes turn to a massive clash at the Olympic Stadium next week. On Saturday, July 19, the Wrocław squad will face off against the top team in the Eastern Conference – the Vienna Vikings – in front of their home crowd. Tickets for this game are already available at www.ticketmaster.pl.

Victory After a Nail-Biter

The Panthers came into the game in Prague with clear determination to win. They took the lead on their opening drive, with Kacper Jaszewski scoring the first touchdown of the day. Following a successful defensive turnover, the offense quickly capitalized, as Przemysław Banat extended the lead to 14 points. Wrocław started strong and maintained control throughout the early phases of the game. Although the Lions began to close the gap, quarterback DJ Irons scored a third touchdown for the Panthers just before halftime, allowing the visitors from Poland to enter the break with a 5-point lead.

“We took the lead quickly in the first quarter. Even though the tempo slowed later, we did a great job stopping their offense and went into halftime ahead. The third quarter didn’t go our way, but we responded mentally, handled the pressure, and sealed the win in the fourth quarter,”
said Adrian Gródecki, wide receiver for Panthers Wrocław.

Fueled by a strong finish to the second quarter, the home team took control in the third, turning the tide and forcing the Panthers to play catch-up. As time began to run out, the Wrocław side stayed resilient. The game-winning points came with just 14 seconds left on the clock, delivered once again by quarterback DJ Irons, who found the end zone for the second time on a solo run, securing the dramatic win.

Panthers Wrocław delivered an unforgettable performance in Prague. The dynamic duo of DJ Irons and running back Dawid Brzozowski, widely regarded as the best running tandem in Europe, proved unstoppable. On defense, the Panthers forced two turnovers, and kicker Jakub Ałdaś added critical points with two successful field goals and several extra points after touchdowns.

“The game in Prague was incredibly demanding. Even though we imposed our rhythm early, our own mistakes led to a tense finish. We need to clean those up as we prepare for next week’s matchup against the Vienna Vikings. A win is always great, but following the 24-hour rule, our focus now shifts fully to the next challenge,”
added Szymon Romanowski, safety for Panthers Wrocław.
