Matthew Vitale returns to Panthers Wrocław!

Panthers Wrocław announces a change at the quarterback position. The command of the Wrocław offense will be taken over by the well-known Matthew Vitale, who led it for almost the entire 2023 season.

will replace John Uribe as the quarterback of the Wrocław Panthers, who had taken over the role from Steven Duncan. "Matty Ice" will make his debut in the home game against Prague Lions on July 7th.

Last year, the American played the entire season in Wrocław with a short break due to injury, leading the team to the play-offs of the European League of Football.

I have been waiting on a call from Wrocław because I loved my time here last season. I want to continue to build something special for our organization and our team. I’m thankful to once again have the opportunity to compete in the ELF and represent the Panthers. We have a lot of work to do but I believe we will turn our season around and be the team we all know we are capable of being. I’m happy to be back in an amazing organization and will do everything necessary to lead our team and gain a birth into the playoffs for the second season in a row. The fans have always had a special place in my heart because they helped make my first season here unforgettable and I will do everything in my power to put a great product on the field that they can be proud to support. I will do everything I can to make us all proud of our team – says Vitale.

Vitale recently played for Reyes de Jalisco in the Mexican league. He also played for Jackson State Tigers in the NCAA Division I. The 27-year-old has received numerous accolades during his career overseas, including the California Football Conference MVP award and a two-time nomination to the AAC All-Academic Team.
