Kurt Page Joins Panthers Wrocław as Quarterbacks Coach

Kurt Page is joining Panthers Wrocław as the new quarterbacks coach! The experienced coach brings years of knowledge gained both as a player and a coach at the collegiate and international levels. His expertise and approach to quarterback development will help Panthers build an even stronger offense for the 2025 season in the European League of Football.

Why Panthers?

The decision to join Panthers Wrocław was a natural one. Page has been dedicated to quarterback development worldwide for years. In the summer of 2023, he led quarterback training camps in Israel, focusing on developing young talent and expanding the sport globally. Now, he brings that experience to Panthers.

"I traveled to the Land of Israel, conducting quarterbacking coaching camps and schools for developing quarterback coaching worldwide for the first time, and I’m grateful that Panthers Wrocław recognized my experience and mission of developing quarterbacks globally."

A Rich Playing and Coaching Career

Page knows the quarterback position inside out. He was the first quarterback in SEC history to pass for over 3,000 yards in a season while playing at Vanderbilt University. After finishing his playing career, he turned to coaching and developed young quarterbacks, including at Texas A&M University, where his players won two Cotton Bowl Championships.

"Quarterbacking a team is a full-time commitment aligning yourself and, more importantly, acceptance that you are identified as the face of the franchise, similarly to the way communities judge the Head Coach. When your team is successful, you are successful as a quarterback."

American Football in Europe

Page sees American football outside the U.S. evolving positively, with quarterback development being a key factor in team success. "All American football played worldwide is trending positively as it’s improving and growing, that is inside the USA or Europe. Of course, how football success goes is in direct affiliation with the effectiveness of which the quarterbacking playing and coaching. Acceptance of the Growth Mindset paradigm is the key for success in sport as well as lifestyle."

Working with Panthers' Quarterbacks

"Quarterbacking skills can be grown, nurtured, and developed. Younger players might be more coachable since their canvas is almost bare and blank, but anyone new to the sport or position can learn, understand, and improve with focused, guided practice."

For Page, communication and building relationships with players are crucial. "Since I started playing sports as a kid in the Music City Capital (Nashville, Tennessee), all players have been encouraged and instructed by leaders to get on the same page. It is the Most Valuable Players’ trait that the Quarterback can possess, dedicating their time and energy to getting everyone on the same page within the team, inside of the Panthers Wrocław Organization, and the Country of Poland."

The "6 2 9" Philosophy

Kurt Page has a well-defined strategy for building an effective offense. One of his core principles is the "6 2 9" philosophy, which emphasizes maximum effort in every play and aiming to score at least 29 points per game.

"A few seasons ago, coaching football and living in Tennessee, the communications department decided to ADD a new phone area code ‘6 2 9’ to take care of the influx of new Tennesseans. The mantra of the ‘6 2 9’ Goal was adopted, defining success by competing hard individually each play for six seconds and becoming the first team to score at least twenty-nine points in each game."
