The Panthers Wrocław juniors claimed the title of Polish vice-champions in 2025! In the final played at the Olympic Stadium, the Wrocław squad had to acknowledge the superiority of the brilliantly prepared Warsaw Mets. The visitors from the capital won 28–7.
From the very first whistle, you could feel what was at stake the gold medal of the Polish Championship. Both teams aimed for a strong start, wanting to dominate the opponent right away. The game began better for the Panthers, who scored the first and, unfortunately, only points of the final after a successful running play by Jan Wroński.
Despite the ambitious effort of the young Wrocław players, the Mets were out of reach that day, playing an almost perfect game. The visitors consistently capitalized on the hosts’ mistakes and steadily built their lead, ultimately scoring 28 points and securing a well-deserved championship.
“What can I say? Sincere congratulations to the Warsaw Mets, who played a great game. Unlike us, they made very few mistakes, consistently moved the ball, and adapted well to our play. Offensively, we experienced a sort of déjà vu from last year. We were able to move the ball and gain first downs, but in the red zone we were there multiple times and only once managed to finish the drive with points. We made many mistakes on offense and special teams. A pick-six, a blocked punt, giving the opponent the ball on our own five-yard line, a kickoff return stopped only in our red zone, plus many missed blocks in the running game.
But not to focus solely on the weak points the defense played a good game, even though the score doesn’t show it. In reality, we allowed points on defense only once after a long opponent drive; the other three touchdowns resulted from mistakes on offense and special teams.
Summing up the entire season, despite losing the final, we are extremely proud of our players. This year we built a truly wonderful team, and coaching them and watching their progress was an incredible experience. Many of the boys who took the field today will return next year or join the senior PFL roster, and the best will have the chance to represent our club on European fields. And that’s what junior football is all about – developing new players who in a season or two will bolster our senior squads, and in a few years will be the core of our team competing in the European league. Ultimately, we win and lose together, whether players or coaches. No finger-pointing or blaming, because the team is always the greatest value.”
comments Miłosz Maćków, head coach of Panthers Juniors, after the final.
The 2025 season has officially come to an end. Both senior and junior teams have wrapped up their competitions. Ahead of us is the offseason a time when players can fully rest after an intense season, heal injuries, recover, and focus on individual development. It is a key moment to improve weaknesses and calmly prepare for the next training cycle.
Panthers Nation, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your invaluable support in the European League of Football as well as in the Polish Football League, both senior and junior. Your presence and cheering were felt at every game. It is thanks to you that we were able to achieve great success. Thank you, and see you next year!
