American quarterback Jameson Wang is joining Panthers Wrocław. The 24-year-old playmaker has signed a contract for the upcoming 2026 season.
Wang, a Los Angeles native, began his football journey at the renowned Harvard-Westlake and Oaks Christian Schools. Although the highly-rated "three-star" prospect initially planned to join the Air Force Academy, he ultimately chose Cornell University. It was there, playing for the "Big Red," that he became one of the brightest stars in the Ivy League.
His collegiate career was a series of record-breaking achievements: he appeared in 37 games, including 30 consecutive starts as quarterback—the longest such streak in the university's history. During his breakout final season, he earned First-Team All-Ivy honors, dominating league statistics with 2,533 passing yards and 24 passing touchdowns. He made Ivy League history as the first player to record 50 passing touchdowns and 25 rushing touchdowns during his college career.
Despite going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, his talent was recognized by the Los Angeles Chargers, who invited him to their Rookie Mini Camp. Following the camp, Wang decided to continue his career in Europe, joining the Frankfurt Galaxy mid-season. He immediately proved himself as a classic dual-threat quarterback in the ELF, racking up nearly 1,800 total yards and 18 touchdowns in just five games.
We believe that his versatility and experience will make him the cornerstone of the Panthers Wrocław offense for the 2026 season.
What are your greatest strengths, and what type of quarterback would you say you are?
I would definitely classify myself as a dual-threat quarterback. I know I can push the ball down the field with accuracy and confidence, but I’m also comfortable using my legs to extend plays and create opportunities downfield. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to improvise when a play breaks down and turn challenging situations into positive gains.
Before signing with Panthers Wrocław, had you heard much about the city of Wrocław or Poland in general?
Yes, I have! My teammate from college, Paul Lewis, played here last season. Also, my blindside tackle at Frankfurt, Keanu Ebanks, played here a few seasons ago. Although I’ve never been to Poland, I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to experience the country, the culture, and everything the city of Wrocław has to offer.
Last season marked your debut in European competition. How do you rate the level of play here, and what are the biggest differences you’ve noticed compared to playing in the United States?
American Football in Europe is really competitive and taken seriously. The major difference for me is that there’s a different strategy when playing in Europe than in America. Or in other words, there’s a “game within the game”. I have to say, the fans in Europe are amazing and so fun to play for!
What are your expectations for the new AFLE (American Football League Europe)?
I expect the AFLE to have a very competitive league with some of the best teams in Europe. Being a part of the AFLE’s inaugural season is incredibly special and deeply meaningful for me, and I know it’s an equally proud, historic, and exciting moment for the entire Panthers Wrocław organization.
What are your individual and team goals for the 2026 season?
My primary goal, both individually and collectively as a team, is to win every game on our schedule by staying locked in and taking it one game at a time. If we handle our preparation, execution, and effort each week, the rest will take care of itself.
What message do you have for Panthers Nation ahead of the new season?
My message for Panthers Nation is simple—expect winning, expect excitement, and expect a team that plays fast, physical, while having fun doing it.
