A new season, new challenges, and another step in the fight for the European League of Football title – Jakub Samel returns to Panthers Wrocław!
Samel is a name that needs no introduction in the football world – since 2016, he has been the offensive line coach for the Panthers and head coach of the Panthers’ second team. From 2020 to 2022, he served as the head coach of the Panthers and then as Sports Director. Now, after a season spent with the Tirol Raiders from Innsbruck, he is returning to the capital of Lower Silesia!
Jakub Samel will take on a completely new role at the club – Head of Development and Scouting.
"After discussions with the Board and Coach Kuligowski, I am excited to return to the Panthers Wrocław organization. The new position comes with great responsibility, as well as new tasks and challenges. Each of them has one goal – to take the entire organization to an even higher level" Samel summarizes.
"The return of Jakub Samel marks another chapter in the history of our club. The level of the European League of Football rises each year, so only by fully utilizing the potential of Polish players can we compete with teams from the rest of Europe.
In the 2025 season, we will also return to play in the Polish Football League with a development team, so we need coaches on board who understand the realities of football in Poland from the ground up – one of those people is Jakub Samel." - says Michał Latoś, Panthers CEO.
Jakub Samel is not only an excellent coach – an accomplished head coach of the Panthers and the current Head Coach of the Polish National Team – but also one of the best, if not the best, football analysts in Poland. It was his expertise that brought players like KaVontae Turpin (Wide Receiver, current star of the Dallas Cowboys), Thiadrick Hansen (CFL – Toronto Argonauts, two-time Grey Cup winner), Maxim Rouyer (CFL – BC Lions), and dozens of other players who are now competing at the highest level to Wrocław. In recent years, Jakub Samel has also completed coaching internships in the National Football League with the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots.Sponsors
