Bryant Foster to Continue as Position Coach with Panthers Wrocław!

Bryant Foster, an American defensive backs specialist, is staying with Panthers Wrocław for another season!

The experienced coach has brought not only extensive knowledge from U.S. college football but also a strong passion for building relationships and strengthening a winning culture. Foster boasts an impressive coaching résumé, having worked at various prestigious NCAA levels (Division III, II, FCS, and FBS). One of his most valuable experiences was participating in the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, where he worked with the Washington Commanders.

Under Foster’s leadership, the Panthers Wrocław secondary unit significantly improved its performance in his first season. However, the coach makes his goals clear:

“The goal is to be the most disciplined and aggressive secondary unit in the league!”

What made the coach decide to stay longer with Panthers Wrocław?

I decided to stay because I believe in the direction this organization is heading. We share a common vision of building something lasting, competitive, and respected. I feel invested in the development of this team and want to be part of elevating Panthers to the top tier of European football.

What is the team’s greatest strength, and why is it worth working here?

The people are the biggest asset. The players are eager to learn and coachable, the staff supports the team, and the fan base brings genuine passion. It’s an environment built on hard work, humility, and unity. It’s easy to do meaningful work when everyone is moving in the same direction.

What goals does the coach set for himself and the defensive backs group for the upcoming season?

The goal for the defensive backs is to be the most disciplined and aggressive secondary in the league. That means eliminating mental errors, playing fast, communicating at a high level, and taking the ball away. Personally, I want to continue developing players helping them grow not only on the field but also in how they study, process, and understand the game.

How does the coach assess the progress of the secondary since he took over?

I see significant growth in fundamentals and technique, as well as football IQ and overall cohesion. Confidence has risen, and players are starting to understand the “why” behind what we do not just the “what.” That shift is crucial for playing and reacting faster, rather than overthinking.

Which moments from last season were key to the DBs’ development?

Some of the toughest games were the most formative. Facing adversity showed us who responded with resilience and who took the challenge personally to improve. The film sessions after those games were among our best; players took ownership, and that mentality carried forward.

What is the biggest challenge in coaching players of different backgrounds and experience levels in Europe?

The challenge is meeting each player where they are understanding that some have years of structured football knowledge while others are just beginning. You have to teach the fundamentals clearly, be patient, and create a learning environment where every player feels empowered to grow.

What are the biggest differences between American football in the U.S. and in Europe?

In the U.S., many players grow up with the game from childhood. In Europe, the passion is just as strong, but the development paths are more varied. That’s why coaching here requires even greater emphasis on teaching the details of the game which I really enjoy.

How does the coach evaluate the level of competition in the European League?

The level is improving every year. Teams are recruiting well, coaching is getting better, and players are gaining experience faster. The gap between the top and middle-tier teams is narrowing, which is great for the league and for the sport’s international future.

What talents does the coach see among Polish players?

Polish players are extremely competitive and resilient. They’re eager to learn, they work hard, and they take pride in representing their country and club. The growth potential is tremendous, especially as they continue to get opportunities to compete against strong international talent.

Where does the coach see the greatest room for improvement next season?

Consistency in execution. The talent is already within the organization; now it’s about performing at a high level play after play, regardless of situation or opponent. That comes from preparation, discipline, and trust.

How does the coach enjoy life in Poland off the field? What does he like most?

I truly enjoy the culture, history, and warmth of the people here. Wrocław is a beautiful city the architecture, the river, and the energy of the downtown area create a unique atmosphere. I also love the food and discovering new places.

Was adapting to Polish sports culture and mentality a challenge?

Every culture has its challenges, but the players here are incredibly coachable and open-minded. Once relationships and trust were built, everything else came naturally.

What is the most valuable lesson the coach has learned from working in Europe?

That the love of the game is universal. Football brings people together from different backgrounds, languages, and experiences. When players are engaged and coaches are intentional, growth happens no matter where you are.
