American quarterback Joshua Cartwright will once again be one of the key leaders of the Wrocław based team competing in the Polish Football League (PFL).
Cartwright’s experience and skills at the quarterback position are expected to be the foundation of the Panthers’ offense in the 2026 season. In the upcoming season, the young team, strengthened by several experienced players, will fight for the highest goals. The continuation of cooperation with Cartwright is a clear signal that the club is focused on stability and building a championship-caliber roster based on proven players.
“Josh did a fantastic job last season leading the offense of our young team in the PFL. He was not only an outstanding player on the field but also a great mentor for our younger guys during practice. I’m very happy to continue working with Josh for another year!”
Jakub Samel, Head Coach of the Panthers Wrocław team competing in the Polish Football League
What did you feel when you found out the club wanted to extend your contract? Was it an easy decision to stay in Wrocław for another season?
My first feeling when I heard about the contract extension was excitement. The decision to stay really wasn’t difficult. Wrocław and the Panthers organization are where I want to be.
What goals do you set for yourself and for the team for the upcoming year?
In the next season, I think my personal goal is the same as the team’s goal to win the championship. I’m confident it’s achievable because even last season, despite our young roster and the obstacles we faced, the championship was still within our reach.
As a key player, do you now feel a greater responsibility for leading the team?
I definitely feel a greater responsibility, but I’m confident that I’m ready to do whatever is required to bring victories and help my teammates become the best versions of themselves.
The contract extension is a reward for your hard work. What do you consider your biggest area of growth recently?
I think my biggest area of growth has been the mental side of the game and learning how to share that knowledge with the guys on our roster. I believe that to win a championship, we must stay focused on improving ourselves and finding ways to get better day by day.
Do you have a message for the fans who are surely happy about your new deal?
I’m excited to see everyone again we’re ready to bring a championship back to Wrocław!
Joshua is staying with us for another season and this isn’t the end of the good news! Stay tuned!
