A.J. Wentland Signs Two-Year Contract with Panthers Wrocław

The biggest star of Panthers Wrocław is staying with the team for a longer period. The club has extended the contract of its defensive cornerstone, A.J. Wentland, for another two years. The American broke his own league record for tackles this season and is a strong contender for Defensive Player of the Year.

A.J. Wentland
joined Panthers Wrocław halfway through the 2023 season. Since then, he has been the foundation of the Wrocław team's defense, excelling in league statistics. This year, the American shattered his own league record for tackles, recording an impressive 166 this past season. Wentland has also been effective in other roles, including scoring a touchdown and blocking four field goals this year.

A.J. is without a doubt the best player in his position in Europe. From the very beginning, it was clear to us that we wanted him to play in Wrocław for as long as possible, so we're thrilled that he'll stay with us for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. We want to build a strong and stable organization based on players we can fully trust, and through them, help Polish players improve – says Michał Latoś, president of Panthers Wrocław.

I’m very excited to continue playing for the Panthers and the city of Wrocław. I enjoy working with all of my teammates, coaches and colleagues here. We’ve built a strong culture on our defense and I look forward to building upon that culture. It’s been great working with Coach Kuligowski who puts us in great position to be successful each week. I love the organization, the city of Wrocław, and the Panthers Fans. Go Panthers! – comments A.J. Wentland.

The club recently also announced that Craig Kuligowski will remain head coach of the team for the upcoming season. Panthers Wrocław will return to action in the European League of Football between May and June 2025.
