ime for a Bye Week. Panthers Wrocław Will Return to Action in Less Than Two Weeks!
Two games are already behind us for Panthers Wrocław in the 2025 European League of Football season. In the opener, the Wrocław side convincingly defeated Hungary’s Fehervar Enthroners 55–12, while in their second outing they fell to the Nordic Storm, losing 21–40. Now the Craig Kuligowski–coached squad heads into a bye week, and they’ll be back in European competition on Sunday, June 8. At the Olympic Stadium they will host the Czech Prague Lions. Tickets for that game are available via Ticketmaster.
Team sports—especially American football—naturally see turnover every year. Players leave and are replaced by newcomers. Each new season is its own story. Ahead of this year’s campaign, several additions joined the Panthers’ ranks to bolster Wrocław’s strength in 2025. The biggest changes came on offense, led by quarterback DJ Irons. He quickly established himself as an on-field leader and true dual-threat signal-caller: in two games he’s logged 20 rushes for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns. But beyond his dynamic runs, he can throw accurately. From his very first passing plays, wide receiver Darrell Stewart Jr. became his primary target. The American caught 13 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns. Also in DJ’s arsenal are talented receivers Ott “Eric” Ottender, Maciej Krupa, and Poland’s top running back, Dawid Brzozowski. This revamped Panthers offense is both dangerous and unpredictable.
Defensively, the picture is similarly bright. Hubert Ogrodowczyk, Karlis Brauns, and Krzysztof Wis have all started the season in fine form. They’ve been a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks, combining for eight sacks behind the line of scrimmage so far. Meanwhile, Devan Burrell has been outstanding in both defense and special teams. In just two games he’s already recorded a pick-6, two return touchdowns, and a two-point conversion off a blocked extra-point attempt. Devan is currently the Panthers’ top scorer, and his highlight-reel plays have become the trademark of the 2025 ELF season’s opening weeks.
A bye week is the perfect opportunity to rest, draw lessons from past performances, and prepare for upcoming challenges. Our representatives in European competition will return on Sunday, May 8, when at 1:00 PM they’ll take on the Prague Lions at the Olympic Stadium, aiming for another European League of Football victory. Tickets for this matchup are available via Ticketmaster.
