The new section – Panthers Wrocław to play box lacrosse!

The Panthers Wrocław are set to compete in another sports discipline – this time it's box lacrosse! This marks another step in the development of the Wrocław-based American sports club, which already participates in classic lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, softball, as well as American and flag football.

The new Panthers Wrocław section will be composed of players who have been representing the Kosynierzy Wrocław so far, a team with numerous Polish championship titles. By adding another section to the organization, the "Panthers" roster will expand to over 300 members.

We call ourselves a club of American sports and we emphasize continuous development. For this reason, I am extremely pleased to welcome a men's box lacrosse team to the ranks of Panthers Wrocław. I am confident that under our wings, Wrocław players will achieve even greater success than before and reach a new level! - asserts Michał Latoś, President of Panthers Wrocław.

The Panthers Box Lacrosse will compete in the prestigious international NBLL league, kicking off their league matches in March. Apart from the Panthers, teams from Berlin, Prague, Bratislava, and Vienna will also participate. The Wrocław team trains at the Olympic Stadium complex, while league matches take place at the field on Lotnicza Street in Wrocław. The NBLL schedule will be published soon.

Box Lacrosse is a Canadian variation of the sport known for its faster and more physical gameplay. Matches are played on a rink with boards similar to hockey. The pace is set by a 30-second shot clock, and the smaller goal size (1.2 x 1.5 m) requires players to exhibit precision in shooting, despite the goalkeeper's extensive protection gear. The name "box" comes from the enclosed nature of the field, resembling a box, but the association with boxing is not unfounded – players can physically engage in fights for the ball, and the rules even allow for short fistfights.

The coaching staff for Panthers Box Lacrosse will consist of the same individuals who recently joined the coaching staff of the Panthers Lacrosse women's section – Mikołaj Śmigiel and Adam Tymorek.

- Many of our players have participated in the NBLL league in the past, but for the first time in history, we will compete in it in our own colors, playing for Wrocław. Therefore, this is a very exciting event for us. Box Lacrosse is fast, intense, and very entertaining, so I am convinced that it will appeal to Panthers' fans! - states Mikołaj Śmigiel, head coach of Panthers Box Lacrosse.
