Panthers Wrocław are revealing their cards for the 2024 season. The first new American player to join the team is Devan Burrell, who previously played for Milano Seamen. He was one of the standout players from the previous European League of Football season.
Devan Burrell is the second American player, after A.J. Wentland, to be signed by Panthers Wrocław for the 2024 season.
In the previous season, Burrell played for the Leipzig Kings (as DB), and after the Leipzig team withdrew from the competition, he joined Milano Seamen. He received the award for the best special teams player in the league at the end of the season. As a returner, he ran for 1820 yards and scored 5 touchdowns from kick-offs and 2 touchdowns from punt returns.
– I joined Panthers Wrocław because it's a well-managed organization. I feel that the coaching staff here will allow me, as well as our whole team, to reach an even higher level. There's a true culture of winning here. I'm excited to be part of a rapidly developing and strong team. Expect a lot of powerful and spectacular plays from us in the upcoming season. Our goal is to reach the top! – comments Devan Burrell on his transfer.
Previously, in the 2022 season, Burrell played for the Allgäu Comets. From 2018 to 2021, he played in the United States at Missouri Western University in the NCAA Division II.
According to the European League of Football rules, each team can sign four players from the United States and six from other countries around the world. The 2024 ELF season will kick off in early June next year.
