The return of Wrocław to the list of cities competing for the 2025 Polish Championship title is now a reality. In the 2025 season, the Panthers' players will not only compete in the European League of Football for the fourth consecutive year, but we will also see a newly formed team on the fields of the Polish Football League under the guidance of head coach Jakub Samel.
The first international reinforcement for the team has been revealed: American linebacker Adrian Jackson, a former Oregon Ducks player, brings tremendous value to the roster. Soon, the entire coaching staff responsible for the Polish contingent will be announced as well, and as for now, it's time to make it official, who will be leading Panthers' offense in the 2025 journey for Championship:
The quarterback for Panthers Wrocław in the 2025 Polish Football League season will be 6 '2 Joshua Cartwright.
“The first American player we sought for the team returning to the Polish Football League had to be a leader, someone who would support the coaching staff on the field and during training sessions. We chose Joshua because he is not only physically capable and highly skilled, but he also has experience in Europe with teams undergoing development and advancing to higher levels.
Our expectations for all American players are consistent: they must serve as positive role models and provide support to Polish players. On the field, we want someone who can not only execute tactical plans but also elevate the level of play for the entire offense" commented head coach Jakub Samel on the signing of the "offensive general."
We’re excited to have you on board! What made you decide for the 2025 season to bring your talent to Poland?
I’m absolutely thrilled to join the Wrocław Panthers! The opportunity to showcase my skills in Poland and be a part of the vibrant football culture of the Panthers is something I could not pass up. I spoke with Coach Samel and the mindset and direction of the organization fits perfectly with my vision of myself as a player and my goals in the field as well.
It will not be your first European experience - what can you say about football in Europe?
I can say that Europe has a very fast growing football culture. It can be electrifying with a lot of passion and talent on the field and is much more deeply rooted than I could’ve imagined. I fell in love with it from the jump.
As you’ve proven in the past, you have the ability to find receivers down the field, but with your athleticism you are also able to create plays on the ground - how would you describe your game?
My game is based on precision and agility! Precise execution always comes first getting the ball in the hands of our playmakers and making my teammates around me better, when it’s time to make big plays with my athleticism whether that be finding guys down the field or contributing to explosive plays in the run game, I’ve been blessed with the ability to make it happen. I definitely don’t shy away from those situations either.
What can the teammates expect from you in the upcoming weeks?
My teammates can expect me to definitely begin preparation for a huge season, training and learning the offense. And definitely reaching out to some of the guys to start building relationships that takes good teams and makes them great.
To Panthers Nation - get ready for an exciting season ahead of us. It’s great to be a part of this family, and let’s make some unforgettable memories!!
