It’s official – in 2025, the Panthers Wrocław team will not only compete in the European League of Football (ELF) but will also make their return to the Polish League. Head coach Jakub Samel, who will oversee the team’s preparation, shared insights about this decision:
We’ve decided as an organization to rejoin the Polish Football League. This is an excellent opportunity, especially for our homegrown players, to develop within our system. Our goal is not only to nurture young athletes but also to train young coaches. We’ve established a dedicated team to help enhance the growth of Polish players.
How is the roster being built? Can new players still join?
Recently, we held an open recruitment for the senior team, which attracted significant interest. The new recruits are already training and learning the fundamentals of American football. The roster-building process isn’t complete yet and will continue throughout the offseason. I warmly invite everyone to join our training sessions and contact me directly.
Do we know when the season will begin?
The Polish Football League season is expected to start, as in previous years, in late March or early April. We already have a preliminary training schedule in place, and the team will prepare at the iconic Olympic Stadium.
You will lead the Panthers in the Polish League. What can you share about the coaching staff?
The coaching staff is still under construction. We’re in talks with several coaches, and I hope to announce the first names by the end of November so that the players know who they’ll be working with daily.
