American football at its best will return in early June. This is when Panthers Wrocław will inaugurate the new season of the European League of Football. In the main round, the representatives of Poland will play 12 games against the strongest teams on the continent. The main goal of the Wrocław team, as always, will be the fight for the European Championship.
In the 2023 season, Panthers Wrocław will play in the Eastern Conference of the European League of Football. In the main round, they will play a match and a rematch with all group rivals - Leipzig Kings (Germany), Berlin Thunder (Germany), Fehérvár Enthroners (Hungary), Prague Lions (Czech Republic) and Vienna Vikings (Austria). In addition, as part of the intergroup meetings, they will face Hamburg Sea Devils twice.
In the opening game, the team from Wrocław will play against the team from Hamburg. The inaugural meeting with the Sea Devils - referred to as a league classic - will take place on Saturday, June 3rd at the Olympic Stadium in Wrocław, like all other home games of the Panthers.
Vienna Vikings appear to be the most difficult rival of Wrocław - the team from Vienna won the ELF competition last year. It is worth noting, however, that the Panthers managed to defeat the Austrian team at the end of the main phase. This year, the competition is exceptionally strong and even, which guarantees great emotions and the highest sports level.
– In our minds we are already playing the opening game. Our entire team is focused and full of motivation to fight for the highest goals. However, we are gearing up for a difficult and intense season - almost every weekend we will face the best teams on the continent. For fans, it is a guarantee of great sports emotions and amazing spectacles almost every week. We try to make our games exciting events with many attractions for fans who will visit us at the stadium. I can also reveal that, as in the previous season, we are taking steps to ensure that all our games can be watched live on TV – announces Michał Latoś, president of Panthers Wrocław.

In the 2023 season of the European League of Football, 17 teams from 9 different countries will perform. Cologne Centurions, Frankfurt Galaxy, Hamburg Sea Devils, Paris Saints and Rhein Fire will play in the Western Conference, and Barcelona Dragons, Helvetic Guards, Milano Seamen, Munich Ravens, Stuttgart Surge and Tirol Raiders in the Central Conference.
The listed teams are potential rivals of Panthers Wrocław in the play-off phase, to which the 6 best teams of the regular season will advance. The knockout stage will include a wild card round, semi-finals and the grand finale, which will take place on September 24th at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg, Germany.
The Panthers are not going to stop at the regular season and promise to fight until the very end. The main goal of the team is still the fight for promotion to the finals of the competition, and then winning the European Championship. To achieve this, the players of Wrocław made significant reinforcements - both in terms of players and the coaching staff. This year, Nik Rango - a talented quarterback, who has so far developed his career in the United States, will lead the "Panthers" offense. Dave Christensen, a coach with almost 40 years of experience at the highest university levels in the USA, became the new head coach of the Wrocław team.
– We fully trust our new head coach - Dave Christensen, together with whom we have completed a great and complementary team. Our training staff is almost complete; we have also announced most of the field reinforcements. Soon we will start training, during which we will try to bring our game to perfection. I am convinced that we will be able to do everything in the coming season. We intend to focus on each game separately - we believe that this approach will bring us success – says Jakub Samel, sports director of Panthers Wrocław.
