Panthers Softball with a Double Crown! Polish Cup for Wrocław!

The Panthers Softball players concluded the 2023 season in a dreamy style. After recently winning the Polish championship, the Wrocław team sealed their dominance this year by also winning the Polish Cup.

The Polish Softball Cup took place this past weekend in Kutno. The softball players from Wrocław began their journey on Saturday with three convincing victories: 20-1 against Gepards Żory, 13-0 against Lions Kutno, and 15-0 against Białe Lwy Gdańsk. They finished with a 12-8 victory over Warsaw Diamonds. Consequently, the Panthers Softball team won the entire competition with a clean sweep.

– We were very focused, knowing that after our league performance, we entered the cup competitions as favorites. Everyone had only one goal in mind - to finish this competition as winners. The first three matches against teams from Żory, Kutno, and Gdańsk were relatively easy, but the decisive match against Diamonds had its own drama. We were trailing 0-1, then led 8-1, but our opponents caught up and tied the game at 8-8. We finally won in the late innings, after the last change. We didn't lack motivation, and the players who were missing last year also returned. Moreover, we worked very well during the winter period. From the beginning of the new season, we were strong in offense and relentless in defense, winning matches with a significant advantage and ending them early with the 'mercy rule’ – said Łukasz Tur, the head coach of Panthers Softball, in an interview with Słowo Sportowe.

The Polish Cup was the proverbial "icing on the cake" for the Panthers Softball players. Earlier, they also claimed the title of Polish champions, losing only one match throughout the entire PLSK season and winning 17.
