Orlovicius joins Panthers' defense

Laurynas Orlovicius joins the Panthers Wrocław defense

Panthers Wrocław continue to build a strong defensive front ahead of the 2025 European League of Football season. Joining the team is Laurynas Orlovicius, an experienced defensive lineman from Lithuania who brings with him a wealth of international experience and outstanding physical attributes.

Orlovicius has previously played in Germany, Austria, the USA, and Hungary. In 2020, he suited up for Lowlanders Białystok, reaching the national championship game – where he faced none other than Panthers Wrocław.

"We played against Panthers that year and we both made it to the championship game, unfortunately we fell short but I also spent 2 days afterwards in Wroclaw and thought I could see myself playing here at some point representing Eastern Europe in European football."

Among the key moments in his career, Laurynas highlights two experiences that left a lasting impression: playing in the GFL championship game in front of a massive crowd and making his debut in the U.S. at Rice Stadium.

"First being playing in my first GFL championship game in front of over 20,000 people felt like a crazy experience coming from playing in the middle of nowhere at a university sports park with maybe 20 spectators, most of which were friends and family. The second was playing my first game in USA in Rice Stadium – unfortunately because of COVID restrictions we did not have fans, but feeling the next level playing against a full team of college/ex-NFL players while starting as a nobody international player in USA and holding my own was an experience that only made me hungrier to push myself further and further as an athlete."

Known for his physicality and high motor, Orlovicius brings toughness and intensity to the Panthers’ defensive line.

"Relentless motor – over the years of playing I have sharpened my base of skills that I can use to exploit the OL, but knowing I can always revert back to sheer physical strength and violence which is the thing that made me fall in love with football."

When asked about his goals for the season, Laurynas doesn’t hesitate:

"Bring Eastern Europe to the championship game and exceed any expectations."

And finally, a message for Panthers Nation:

"Come out and support the team and we will bring the best season for the Panthers Nation."

Welcome to Wrocław, Laurynas! Let’s get to work.
