In the rematch between Panthers Wrocław and Nordic Storm, the Scandinavians came out on top once again. Our representatives in the European League of Football fought bravely, but the opponent once again proved too strong and deservedly secured a 47–19 victory. Next week, the team from Wrocław will travel to Hungary to fight for a win against the Fehérvár Enthroners.
Outscored in Copenhagen
The first quarter and the beginning of the second didn’t hint at what was to come later. The Panthers played consistently on offense and very aggressively on defense. Despite a few mistakes, they were the first to score in the game, thanks to a rushing touchdown by Dawid Brzozowski. Both the Polish running back and the American quarterback, DJ Irons, performed well in the running game. The offensive plays were smooth, and the defense repeatedly put immense pressure on the home team’s quarterback, Jadrian Clark.
Despite initial struggles on offense, Storm eventually found their rhythm and effectively capitalized on Wrocław’s mistakes. Before halftime, they pulled ahead with a two-possession lead. In the third and fourth quarters, they completely dominated the Panthers and earned a well-deserved win.
“The scoreboard tells the story of the game, so I don’t want to comment on that. We started the match off well, and if we had maintained that pace, I believe the result could have been very different. Now we need to fix our mistakes and keep working to improve. Coach Samel has been with our offensive unit for just a week, and we’re already seeing major progress. Practices are well organized, and the game plan is really solid—now we just have to translate all that work into results on the field,” commented Rafał Rogaczewski, center for Panthers Wrocław.
