Deshon Hall Jr. is the newest addition to the Panthers Wrocław roster! Last season, the American defensive lineman suited up for the Dresden Monarchs.
The 25-year-old defender first honed his skills at East Ascension High School. Thanks to his standout performances, he received numerous NCAA Division I offers from programs such as Colorado, TCU, Wisconsin, and Colorado State, ultimately choosing Louisiana Tech. During his five seasons with the Bulldogs, he appeared in a total of 53 games. After college, he decided to move to Europe, joining the German Football League. As a member of the Dresden Monarchs, he emerged as one of the league's top stars, finishing last year with an impressive stat line: 41 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, and one touchdown.
We believe that in the 2026 season, Deshon will become a cornerstone of our defense, putting massive pressure on our opponents from the very first snap.
Playing college football in the US is a true test of character. What is the most important lesson you learned overseas that allows you to dominate on European fields today?
College football in the U.S. taught me how to compete, but playing overseas taught me how to adapt. In Europe, you don’t get handed anything-different schemes, different rhythms, different expectations. I learned how to study the game deeper, adjust faster, and lead by example regardless of circumstances. That adaptability is what allows me to play fast and confidently every week.
How would you describe your playing style to someone seeing you in action for the first time at the Olympic Stadium?
Relentless and physical. I play with high motor, violent hands, and discipline. I’m not just chasing sacks-I’m setting edges, collapsing pockets, and forcing offenses to account for me on every snap. I want quarterbacks uncomfortable and offenses off schedule.
You’re joining the Panthers coming off a phenomenal season with the Dresden Monarchs. 14.5 sacks is a stat that impresses on any continent. What is your secret to being so consistent when it comes to pressuring the quarterback?
Consistency comes from preparation. Film study, understanding protections, and trusting technique. I don’t rely on just one move-I focus on timing, and tendencies. When you combine that with conditioning and effort, pressure becomes inevitable over four quarters.
Many American players look for opportunities in other leagues or head back to the States after one successful season in Europe. What made you decide to stay on the Old Continent and choose Panthers Wrocław specifically?
Europe has given me an opportunity to grow not just as a player, but as a professional. Panthers Wrocław stood out because of their family based culture, and the trusting eneries I received from the people I have spoken to. This isn’t just a team trying to compete-they’re building something sustainable, and I wanted to be part of that mission.
You’re moving from Dresden to Wrocław-both cities have rich histories and great atmospheres. What do you know about Poland so far? Did you have a chance to visit before signing with the club?
Poland has a strong football culture and passionate fans who really understand the game. Wrocław in particular has a reputation for energy and pride. I’ve learned a lot already through conversations with the organization, and everything I’ve seen tells me this is a city that supports its teams the right way.
Do you have a specific goal for the upcoming season? Do you think breaking the 15-sack barrier is within your reach?
My main goal is helping the team win championships. If I do my job consistently, the numbers will come. Breaking 15 sacks is absolutely within reach, but what matters most is impact-forcing turnovers, key stops, and being dependable when the game is on the line.
Finally-is there anything you’d like to say to the Wrocław fans who are eagerly awaiting your debut?
I’m grateful for the support already, and I promise to bring everything I have every snap. You’ll see effort, passion, and accountability on the field. I can’t wait to represent Wrocław and play in front of you. Let’s build something special together.
