Huge D-Line reinforcement for the 2025 season!

According to the European League of Football rules, a team during the season can be strengthened by a total of 10 players who started their football careers outside of Poland. Foreign players are divided into two categories, A and E, depending on the country where they began playing. The team can be supported by 4 players from category A and 6 players from category E at the same time.

Today, after the announcement of AJ Wentland and Devan Burrell (both counted in category A), we are pleased to introduce another player who will bolster our defense in the upcoming games.

Jordan Scanlan, a defensive lineman from Australia, is the latest addition to the Panthers' first line of defense! Standing over 2 meters tall and weighing 140 kilograms, the Samoan played for the Braunschweig Lions in the 2024 season, reaching the semifinals with them.

Jordan, we’re very excited to have you on board! What made you decide to sign with the Panthers?

After meeting Coach Kool after our last game in Braunschweig, and having a brief conversation about the prospect of me playing in Poland for the 2025 season, it was really his resume and prior coaching history, particularly being a Defensive Line coach in the NCAA that tied everything together. I believe if there’s a coach in the ELF that can get the most out of me and his D-Line, it will be him.

After a solid season with the New Yorker Lions you are entering the world of European League of Fotoball - what can the fans and teammates expect of you?

After a tremendous offseason, the Panther family will be getting an even more explosive Defensive Lineman, someone that I believe Wroclaw will be very pleased with. I expect we will reach the playoffs this season, no less!

If you could describe your playing style in three words, what would it be?

Explosive, Sound, Savvy.

As for the first season in the European League of Football - what are your expectations for 2025?

I expect we make the playoffs and I have a whole lotta fun chasing that!

We all know Australia and New Zealand is the world capital of rugby – what is your sporting background and history?

In my sporting years in Australia, I spent 5 years playing Rugby Union, 3 years playing Rugby League, before switching codes and playing American Football for 4 years.

Being Samoan, we take pride in our sport and we take it very seriously. We are naturally big people and so from a young age, we’re introduced into local sports very early hoping that a career would stem from it down the track and more often than not, it does.

Now, I’m extremely excited to be a part of the Panthers family and get ammongst the locals in Wroclaw, Poland. I believe with the right pieces, from players to coaches, 2025 is going to be a great run for us. See you soon!

Big4!
