The young players of Panthers Wrocław have had an outstanding start to this year's season. After two rounds, the Wrocław juniors lead the table in the South Group of the Polish Junior Football League with two victories.
In the season opener, Panthers Juniors defeated Tychy Falcons 36-0, and this past Sunday, they won 46-0 against Silesia Rebels Katowice. The young Panthers' players didn't give their opponents any chances. The MVP of the game against Rebels was Wrocław's running back, Hugo Kordowski, while Michał Minasov was named the best defensive player.
– The defense dominated from the very beginning, and our safety in the first drive of our opponents speaks for itself. In offense, we moved the ball well; we just needed to finish our series. In the third and fourth quarters, we let the substitutes play, giving them valuable experience. There wasn't a player who didn't get on the field, which is a big plus at the junior level. I was positively surprised by the performance of our offensive line. In the first game against the Falcons, we made mistakes, but now our offensive players performed very well. Credit also goes to the entire defense, led by Michał Minasov – summarized the head coach of Panthers Juniors, Miłosz Maćków, after the game.
The Wrocław team will play their next two games at home – on September 1st, they will host Tychy Falcons at Ołtaszyn Stadium, and two weeks later, on October 14th, they will face Kraków Kings at the Olympic Stadium.
If Panthers Juniors win all their matches, they will secure the opportunity to play the semifinal at their own venue.
Last year, the Wrocław team became the vice champions of Poland. Panthers Wrocław juniors lost to the Kraków Kings in the finals of the PFLJ competition. This season, the young Panthers are hoping for an improved result.
