Football Showdown in Wrocław! Panthers Take on Scandinavian Newcomers
This Sunday, May 25 at 1:00 PM, the Olympic Stadium in Wrocław will host a thrilling matchup. Panthers Wrocław will face off against the Nordic Storm — a new Danish-Swedish team making their debut season in the European League of Football. Both teams won their opening games, making Sunday’s clash a potentially decisive early-season battle. Tickets are already on sale – and the excitement is guaranteed!
After a spectacular season opener and a 55–12 win over the Fehérvár Enthroners, the Panthers are riding high. Fans at the stadium were treated to highlight plays from new quarterback DJ Irons and wide receiver Darrell Stewart Jr., while Devan Burrell stole the show with a dazzling return touchdown and an interception that he converted into more points. The Panthers displayed dominance – on offense, defense, and with their team spirit.
“Debuting in Panthers colors at the Olympic Stadium felt amazing. This is my new home. I’m happy we got the win, but the next challenge awaits. Nordic Storm will come out strong – on both sides of the ball,” said Darrell Stewart Jr., wide receiver for Panthers Wrocław.
A New Opponent, A New Story
Nordic Storm are the ELF’s newest team – founded in 2024, and this is their inaugural season in the league. But they’ve already made a statement, crushing the Helvetic Mercenaries 56–12 in their debut. Quarterback Jadrian Clark – a two-time ELF champion with Rhein Fire – threw five touchdowns and led a performance that left a lasting impression. Although running back Glen Toonga is out for the season due to injury, Storm have strong replacements ready. In the passing game, wide receiver Brendan Beaulieu and one of the league’s top tight ends – and former Panthers player – Adria Botella Moreno, have been standout performers. With top-tier talent across nearly every position, Sunday’s game promises to be a true spectacle.
“We want to bring the pressure from the start and play as one unit – only together can we achieve our goal. The opponent has a strong roster, but it all comes down to executing our game plan and tactical approach on the field,” said Krzysztof Wis, linebacker for Panthers Wrocław.
A Sunday Full of Excitement – On and Off the Field
The game isn’t the only attraction! Starting from 11:00 AM, the area around the Olympic Stadium will come alive with a fan zone featuring food trucks, entertainment, contests, music, and team mascots. It’s a football festival for the whole family – and a perfect chance to experience top-level European football in person.
Will the Panthers keep their winning streak alive? Will the Storm manage to pull off an upset on Wrocław’s home turf? One thing’s for sure – the atmosphere will be electric! Kickoff is at 1:00 PM.
Coach Craig Kuligowski’s players are counting on the support of their fans to keep the momentum going. Tickets are available online at ticketmaster.pl. The game will be broadcast live on Polsat Sport Fight.
