ELF Star joins Panthers. A.J. Wentland to play at the Olympic Stadium

The most effective linebacker in the European League of Football is joining Panthers Wrocław. A.J. Wentland will strengthen the Polish team not only during the crucial moments of the ongoing season but also in the future, as he has signed a two-year contract.

"King Wentland” joins Panthers

A.J. Wentland is one of the biggest stars in the European League of Football. His statistics are unmatched, with 84 tackles in the current season – nearly twice as many as the second-ranking player when the Leipzig Kings withdrew from the competition.

Wrocław is a fantastic city, and Panthers are a great organization. I am impressed with the coaching staff and our entire team here. I feel very excited about the opportunity to play in Poland. Go Panthers! – said Wentland himself.

The American player will support Panthers Wrocław in their quest for a spot in the European League of Football playoffs. With four regular-season games left, the results will determine the final standings. Fans will also see Wentland in Wrocław in the 2024 season.

Our goal is to build a top organization in Europe – that's why we reached an agreement with A.J. Wentland to play in Wrocław. This caliber of player will undoubtedly help us reach an even higher level of performance. The numbers clearly show that he is the best player in his position in Europe. The contract with Wentland is part of our long-term development strategy, so it will also be valid for the next season – said Michał Latoś, president of Panthers Wrocław.

A.J. Wentland has been a top-performer of the European League of Football in the two past years. That's why we tried to get him to join our organization. We signed him on a two-year contract. We are looking for reinforcements that will improve our team in the long term – says Dave Christensen, head coach of Panthers Wrocław.

Wentland is the second player from Leipzig Kings, after William James, to sign a contract with Panthers Wrocław.

Other roster moves

A.J. Wentland will replace Solomon Brown on the field, who was placed on the IR list. Also joining the Panthers Wrocław is Damian Wesołowski (DL), another of the Lowlanders Białystok players, who also represented the Wrocław club's colors in previous seasons.

Panthers Wrocław fight for the play-offs

The Panthers Wrocław will play their next away game against the Prague Lions on July 29. Their next home game will be on August 13, when polish team will take on the Vienna Vikings at the Olympic Stadium.
