Dylan St. Pierre joins Panthers Wrocław! A transfer from the Canadian Football League.

Dylan St. Pierre joins Panthers Wrocław! The Canadian moves to Lower Silesia straight from the CFL fields.

Dylan grew up in Ottawa, where he represented St. Francis Xavier C.H.S. The next step in his career was attending the University of Ottawa. Between 2016 and 2022, he appeared in 33 games for the Gee-Gees, playing primarily as a wide receiver. In 2023, he signed as a free agent with the B.C. Lions, spending the following three seasons in the elite Canadian Football League as a fullback. He is an incredibly experienced player brought in to bolster the "Panthers" offense, primarily as a tight end, though his versatility will certainly provide the coaching staff with plenty of tactical options.

You represented the B.C. Lions at the highest level of competition in Canada. What motivated you to move to Europe and continue your career here?

As an athlete and competitor, I’m always looking to push myself. When my time with the Lions ended I knew I wasn’t done competing at the highest level and was left wanting more. I knew there was an elite competition level in Europe playing in the AFLE. This motivated me to keep pushing myself to seek out such an opportunity. When the Panthers called I was glad to jump at the opportunity!

You spent the last few seasons in the CFL, where the rules differ significantly from those in the AFLE. How long do you think it will take you to fully adapt to the European system of play?

There will definitely be an adjustment period with the rules, one less player on the field and the size of the field. I pride myself on being an adaptable player and half the battle in professional football is being able to adapt in different situations. I do have experience playing American rules football in the 2021 FBS Tropical Bowl All-Star Game. There is also an opportunity for me to learn from our homegrown Polish players and lean on them for their experience.

Given your versatility, in which on-field situations do you feel the strongest? Do you prefer playing as a "blocking TE" or being a primary target in the passing game?

My background playing wide receiver in university before changing positions at the pro level definitely gives me an advantage in the passing game. Even as a receiver I was always a good run blocker and I really pride myself on my physicality. I have worked my craft to become a tenacious run blocker who can dig out the defensive end and really give our offence a boost in the short yardage game.

What goals, both individual and team-oriented, have you set for yourself for the upcoming season with the Panthers Wrocław?

Individually I set a high standard for myself. I am looking to contribute as a primary target in our passing game as well as contributing in the run game as a blocker. As for team goals, our goal is nothing short of bringing a championship home to Wroclaw and making our fans proud week in and week out on the field and in the community.

While with the BC Lions, you met Maxime Rouyer and coach Cory McDiarmid, both of whom were with the Panthers Wrocław during the 2022 season. Did you ask them for their opinion on the club before deciding to transfer?

Yes I definitely did! Max is a great player and leader in the locker room so I definitely wanted his input on the organization. Coach McDiarmid is an incredible coach and even better person off the field so again was very interested to get his opinion. Both Max and coach McDiarmid had nothing but positive things to say about the organization, the staff, the players and the city. It was an easy decision coming to Wroclaw after speaking with them.

Before signing with the "Panthers", did you already have a chance to learn anything about Poland, or is this a completely new destination for you?

This is a completely new destination for me. In fact I have never been to Europe. The turnaround from the team initially reaching out to me to signing was also very fast, all happening within 24 hours. However, I am beyond excited for something new. I can’t wait to experience Polish culture, food and live in a city with such a rich history. I have also started practicing my Polish.

What message would you like to share with the Panthers Wrocław fans before the start of the 2026 season?

Thank you for the warm welcome! I can’t wait to see you all on game day and in the community. Let’s make the 2026 season our year together!
