The young Panthers Wrocław squad returns to action in the Polish Football League after a four-week break. This coming Sunday (June 1), the Wrocław side will play away at Armia Poznań.

Overcoming Armia

The youthful “Panthers” are back in the Polish Football League after nearly a month off, and their next opponent is Armia Poznań. So far in the 2025 domestic season, the Wrocław team has played four games. With a 2–2 record they sit third in the Southern Group. Every remaining match is crucial—especially clashes against fellow southern teams—as six clubs are fighting for just four playoff spots. Armia currently occupy fifth place in the group with a 2–3 record. They’re known for their physical defensive play and efficient offense. In almost every game, the Poznań side has battled fiercely for victory, so we anticipate a demanding contest this Sunday.

“It’s been four weeks since our last game in the Polish league. Such a long break definitely makes maintaining match rhythm difficult. We’ve focused entirely on getting back into form. Given the youth and relative inexperience of our squad, this pause has allowed us to work more on our individual skills without the pressure of tactics tailored to a specific opponent. Armia Poznań has made a significant step forward this season. You can see that the new league format has motivated their entire organization, and watching their play, we’re preparing for a very physical clash. They also show a lot of variety in attack, so it will surely be a tough match. At this stage of the season, looking at the fixtures we have left, each game is, in my opinion, key—and to secure a playoff berth, you have to approach every one with full concentration, without thinking too far ahead,” comments Jakub Samel, head coach of Panthers Wrocław.

Return to the Olympic Stadium

The next Polish league match for the Wrocław side will be away, but just one week later—on Saturday (June 7)—Panthers Wrocław will host the Silesia Rebels Katowice at the Olympic Stadium. Tickets for that game are available via Ticketmaster.
