Roster moves. Mak Sexton, the new quarterback for Panthers Wrocław

At the midpoint of the regular season of the European League of Football, Panthers Wrocław underwent significant changes in their lineup. The team was bolstered by a new American quarterback and five domestic players.

Offensive transfer

Panthers Wrocław faced a challenging away game in Hamburg. The Wrocław team paid a price for the game against Sea Devils with health problems to their starting quarterback, Matthew Vitale, who was placed on the injured reserve list due to the injury. His place in the team will be taken by another American, Mak Sexton. The new quarterback for Panthers Wrocław has previously played for the collegiate teams Pittsburg State Gorillas and IUP Crimson Hawks.

I’m very excited to join the Panthers and continue building upon the strong season we have going! Wrocław is an amazing city and has a history of winning national championships. I’m looking forward to being a part of a great organization and working to make the Panthers one of the top teams in Europe – says Sexton.

The roster of Panthers Wrocław has also been supplemented by five domestic players. Panthers welcomed the newly crowned Polish champions from Lowlanders Białystok - Maciej Jabłoński (DB) and Mateusz Samczuk (OL). Both of them were chosen as the best players in their positions in the previous season of the Polish American Football League. Samczuk should be well-known to Wrocław fans as he already represented Panthers Wrocław in the previous season. The team also welcomed two players from Jaguars Kąty Wrocławskie - Witold Gajewski, announced as the best PFL quarterback, and defensive lineman Marcin Pryjma. Additionally, the Wrocław team was strengthened by the representative of the Polish national team - Mateusz Dzioban, who previously played as a DB for Fehervar Enthroners.

Next game on Saturday

Some of the new players for Panthers Wrocław will make their debut in the upcoming game against Vienna Vikings. The game will take place on Saturday (July 15) at 6:00 PM. The Polish-Austrian clash can be watched live from 5:55 PM on Polsat Sport Extra or on the league's streaming platform.
