Panthers Wrocław will face Rhein Fire for a spot in the grand final of The League Europe!

This Sunday, August 30th, Panthers Wrocław kick off the playoffs in the European competition, AFLE - The League Europe. In the semifinal matchup, they will face the decorated German side, Rhein Fire, on the road. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM. The game will be broadcast live on the AFLE+ platform and on Polsat Sport 3.

A tough task lies ahead for the Polish representatives. Both teams wrapped up the regular season with a 10-2 record, but the German squad captured their conference title, having also claimed victory in their head-to-head meeting in Duisburg (48:7).

However, the postseason operates by its own rules, and a spot in the championship game comes down to a single matchup. Wrocław enters this clash riding an impressive five-game winning streak - including an away victory over the Vienna Vikings, handing them their sole loss of the season. Everything points to a thrilling battle with excitement straight through to the final whistle.

„We are excited about entering the playoffs in the AFLE. The last time the Panthers were in the playoffs, I was here as the DC in 2023. The men on our team are playing their best football now. We have operated on both offense and defense and have cut down our penalties with disciplined play. To win in the playoffs we will have to play harder and tougher than our opponents. That is what we do here!   I am looking forward to the trip to Germany and the game on Sunday! RAZEM!” - comments Dave Likins, Head Coach of Panthers Wrocław.

„The team is confident in our preparation going into the playoffs to put it all on the line this weekend. We have worked very hard to get a second chance to play this team, and are looking forward to playing the fire this time when it counts the most! I'm expecting Rhein Fire to have a great home crowd for their playoff game, and for this to be a physical game all 4 quarters. We are excited to play a competitive football game until the clock hits triple zeros. Thank you Panther nation for the support all season! We need everyone in Dusseldorf rooting us on in person!” - added Jameson Wang, Quarterback for Panthers Wrocław.

„The biggest game of the season is ahead of us. We've worked hard all year for this exact moment, and I'm convinced we are fully prepared. Advancing to the final comes down to a single game, so there's no room for holding back - we're going to Germany strictly for the win and a ticket to the Gold Bowl!” - concludes Jakub Ciurkot, Kicker for Panthers Wrocław.

One Step Away From the Gold Bowl

Panthers Wrocław are now just one victory away from advancing to the Gold Bowl - the championship game of the European AFLE - The League Europe competition. In the first semifinal, the Vienna Vikings will square off against the London Warriors, while the Panthers take on Rhein Fire in the second matchup. The decisive championship game will take place on Sunday, September 6th, at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg.
