Panthers Wrocław are Polish championship runner-ups!

In the grand finale of the Polish Football League, the young representatives of Panthers Wrocław had to acknowledge the superiority of the Warsaw Eagles, who triumphed 58:40.

Despite the loss, the „Panthers” can look back on a highly successful domestic season - they came incredibly close to capturing the Polish championship title. The final clash provided fans with immense excitement, with a staggering 98 points scored at the Olympic Stadium. Both teams put on a spectacular, crowd-pleasing display of football.

The Warsaw Eagles were the first to open the scoring, putting the Wrocław squad in a tough position. However, Hubert Frej breathed hope back into the hearts of Panthers fans, scoring a touchdown in the final seconds of the first half to cut the deficit to 9 points. After the break, the Panthers fought valiantly to turn the tide. Maksymilian Cybula scored an impressive three touchdowns, while Re-al Mitchell and Will Stricklin added one each. In the second half alone, the Wrocław team racked up 34 points. However, the Eagles' offense was in such peak form that day that the players from the capital of Lower Silesia could not make up the ground.

„First of all, congratulations to the Warsaw Eagles - all the players and the staff - for a great season and a fantastic performance in the final. They played a great game from start to finish. On our side, we fought for all four quarters, and that was the most important thing for me - our team never gave up for a single moment in this tough matchup. We will do everything we can to use this result as motivation for even harder work throughout the upcoming offseason.” - commented Jakub Samel, head coach of Panthers Wrocław.

Despite the defeat in the Polish Bowl, the players and the entire coaching staff deserve immense praise. Jakub Samel built a team that - despite having the lowest average age in the entire league - secured the Polish vice-championship. Throughout the season, the young „Panthers” went toe-to-toe with much older and more experienced teams. The experience gained this way could prove invaluable in the future when these young players join the ranks of the first team competing in European competitions.

The 2026 Polish Football League season is behind us. However, this is not the end of the excitement surrounding the Panthers' performances this year. On Sunday, July 16, Dave Likins' squad competing in the AFLE - The League Europe will play their final home game. The Panthers will host the London Warriors at the Olympic Stadium. The club is already promising that, alongside the sporting thrills, fans can expect a truly unique spectacle. To celebrate Polish Armed Forces Day, which falls the day before, the game will feature a „Military Day” theme - the Polish Army will be present at the stadium, and fans will be able to get an up-close look at military highlights.

There will also be no shortage of a traditional American game-day celebration. A special attraction zone will be set up at the stadium, featuring food trucks, a kids' zone with inflatables, numerous surprises, and meet-and-greets with the team mascots. It is the perfect opportunity to spend time with the whole family, combining a picnic atmosphere with military ceremony, and to experience firsthand the unique environment that accompanies Panthers Wrocław games.
